Watch: New Plymouth Councillors debate exclusion of public from Water CCO appointments

New Plymouth District Councillors have voted to exclude the public at an extraordinary meeting taking place today, one day prior to the conclusion of the 2025 local body elections, to appoint board directors for New Plymouth’s new Council Controlled Organisation for Water Services.

Councillors Gordon Brown, Murray Chong and Dinnie Moeahu debated against exclusion and voted accordingly, however the motion was passed with a majority vote.

NPDC advises that the results of appointees will be sent at the conclusion of the meeting via a press release.
